About

Monique (you can call her, ‘Monz’, 'Monza' or ‘Mon’) grew up in a health-conscious family, with her mother an ICU nurse, and father (Personal Trainer; Australian Masters Games medal winner) heavily into all forms of training. Her innate desire to learn about the human body and all things health therefore transcended naturally, leading her to enter the health and wellness industry.

Since qualifying as a Personal Trainer in 2013, boxing, circuit-training and specialising in postural stabilisation have been the forefront of her interests. After pushing her body to the max in all areas of her life a few years ago (hello, burnout!), becoming unwell was the turning point to discovering her love of a slower paced training regime, involving low-impact, sustainable training. Her approach to training is thus balanced, from experiencing both ends of the spectrum – making sure that sessions are appropriately catered for the individual.

She thrives on focusing on correct technique, and you will walk away equipping yourself with valuable tools and knowledge to live life with more zest, vitality and ease.

Her journey has encompassed commercial fitness right through to seeking alternate, natural therapies, modalities and movement to aid in recovery. Entering the realm of energetic healing and holistic health and continuously exploring this notion has opened her understanding of how innate the human body is, and that no ‘system’ in the body works alone.

Working alongside Dr Mary Bourke (Chiropractor and CEO of Myo Munchee) has been a turning point in her career, expanding her knowledge regarding the intricacies of the human body and how the oral facial myofunctional components can cause detrimental dysfunction systemically in the body.

She doesn’t claim to know everything and is forever a student to the human body.

“ "I am totally new to Pilates especially Pilates using a Reformer. In a few months of one to one training with Mon I have noticed more strength and resilience in problematic areas of my body especially knees, hips, and quads and I have been able to walk on three day walks with no issues before or after. Mon is able to discern issues in movement and muscles before I am, so changes the exercises accordingly. I always feel supported and strong training with her"
